#StopEACOP is a global campaign against the construction of the East African Crude Oil pipeline (EACOP), a proposed 1,445-kilometer heated pipeline that will transport oil from Hoima, Uganda to the port of Tanga in Tanzania. If completed, EACOP will displace communities, endanger wildlife and tip the world closer to full-blown climate catastrophe. The campaign is led by an alliance of local groups and communities, and African and international organizations, and targets the different actors that are behind EACOP. This includes commercial banks such as SMBC, ICBC and Standard Bank that are financial advisors to the project, and commercial banks that might consider providing finance to the project. If we can stop the money pipeline to EACOP, then we can stop the actual pipeline. Help us #StopEACOP!
